My daughter is a little over 7 months old and loves to crawl all over the place. She also likes to grab onto the coffee table and pull herself up and then grab everything she can...but anyways, I was thinking of getting some crawling toys and some books with sounds, different textures and bright colors, maybe some of those Gerber puffs (since she has 4 teeth and "chews" and picks up food with her thumb and first finger and puts it in her mouth). So are these good ideas; anything else that could go in her Easter basket? Also, I know that she won't remember this, but my hubby and I will and we intend to take pics and put them in her photo album.... Thanks!
--------------------
Im having the same problem! i have 2 other girls and they are so much easier! So far I have bought my 7 month old some bath toys including this really cute pastel pink rubber ducky that looks really eastery, gerber puffs, a new sippy cup cause she loves to steal her 23 month old sisters cup, stuffed bunny, bunny ears and some new pacifiers but thats where i am stuck! between her and her sister we have every type of baby toy out there and 10000s of books! trying to find something that will stop her from pulling up on the tv stand lol that would make a good easter present!

bridal shower gifts for bride?
I was invited to a bridal shower and wedding for a neighbor but have no idea what to buy. They have lived together for years so their registry is basically nonexistent. For the wedding we are just going to give money. Just need to know whats a good idea for a bridal shower gift. We have only lived in the neighborhood a year so I don't know her that well our kids ride bikes together we wave as we pass by so really don't know what she is in to...is a basket with lotions, candles, bubble bath good?!
--------------------
I think your basket of gifts is a great idea! It's nice that they invited you to the shower - it's a good way to get to know her better and make a few new friends. Go and have fun!

How long can i leave fryer basket in oil pot?
I just got as an early Christmas gift of a deep fryer. I know from reading the user guide and other information on the Internet that it is perfectly acceptable to leave fryer oil in the new fryer for extended periods of time. At least until it looks like it needs to be filtered. Particularly if i am primarily doing french fries in it. But, my question is the fryer basket, can i just leave it soaking in the cold oil all the time? or does it need to be washed every time I use the fryer?
--------------------
You Can leave it the oil without any problems. I have had a Rival deep fryer that has a close-able lid with filter for many years. The basket's handle folds down and blends into the side of the unit for storage. I have always left the basket in the oil and never have had any problems doing that. When I filtered or change out the oil, I would then wash the baskets, and allow it to dry completely before returning it to the oil. Water in deep frying oil just don't mix and can cause bad burns from unexpected spatter. Have fun, and You'll be using it for more than just fries, I did! Use Canola oil, it's cholesterol free and has a high boil point, last a long time, and is reasonably cheap. I'm including a breaded onion ring recipe that can be used on so many different foods. My brother Bob that it is name after, past on this past July at the age of 73. Good Luck, Enjoy, & Happy Holidays! Brother Bob's Beer-Batter Onion Rings Reminiscent of Bob's Big Boy of the 1950's & 60's That My Older Brother Bob Took Me To 1¼ cups All-purpose flour 1 lrg Egg ¾ cup Beer, room temperature 2 lrg Onions, white or Spanish cut in ¼" thick slices 1 tsp Salt ½ tsp Baking soda ¼ tsp Lemon-pepper 1 tbls Canola oil Oil for deep-frying In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, lemon-pepper, baking soda, and then egg and canola oil. Gradually whisk in beer and store in refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours allowing batter to rest before using. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer to 375ºF. Dip each onion slice into batter, shake slice slightly allowing excessive batter to drip off, and immediately place battered ring into hot oil and fry turning only once until both sides are golden brown. Serve hot. This batter works great on other vegetables like zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, ect; it also works great on thin sliced chicken breast and fish.

What are possible wedding gifts a 12 year old could make and give?
now this question isn't any old regular "what kind of wedding gift should i get?", i'm an 12 year old who got invited to my tutor's wedding and i was planning on knitting her a fruit basket, but turns out, i'm not a pro at knitting and when i "try" to knit the object, it looks like nothing :(. if anybody knows of simple fruit knitting ideas...that would be appreciated. but i'm kind of skeptical on the idea. plus, she's a really important friend so i kinda don't want like a cheesy like picture frame gift...also, her wedding is in like august, so i kinda want something possible for a 12 year old to make within the time limit of now...and august 20. so yeah..all ideas appreciated! :)
--------------------
You could make a really beautiful wedding card for them. You can go to a craft store and buy pretty ribbons and pens and design a really unique meaningful wedding card. Then, maybe give them a nice photoframe so that they can put a wedding photo in it after they're married. I think that would be really thoughtful and lovely.

For your mom, get her body lotion, bubble bath, a nice sponge, room incense, candles, a bottle of perfume, bath beads, some different kinds of tea, and a cd she would enjoy. For your dad, get him a coffee mug, a book, a desk calendar, something related to his favorite sports team, a tie, and a movie or video game. For both, include their favorite kinds of candy and snacks.

What's a creative way to exchange Christmas gifts?
Every year we try to find a different idea for presents. We have a theme each year. We've done the secret santa idea and it's just become old. We set a price limit and had everyone put there gift in a basket, we've had gift decorating contests, where everyone voted on the best one, we've played the game where you can steal the gift from the person before you... I'm running out of ideas! Anyone have one they've done successfully?
--------------------
Some one can hide the gift and make clues in specific areas. For example, you give the first piece of paper to the person searching for the present, has a riddle in it like " in your favorite movie" and you actually have another paper waiting inside his/her favorite DVD and so on till the person finds the present. It sounds more fun when the person actually playing it.

Is My color poem good? This is my homework?
If you want to find Red, Bite into the Juicy tomato. Look at the fruit punch getting poured on the cup. Smell the juice of the cherry in the jar. Feel the smooth shiny bright apple from the fruit basket. Hear the gift wrapper getting wrinkled up in a ball. If you want to find Red. Poem By, Nicole

I am asking this business question for my sister.?
She wants to start a candy and cookie bouquet? She wants to know would anyone buy these things? She is offering baskets, truffles, fudge, specialty candies, and the bouquets. She is trying to find a small store to get started in. She wants to know how to go about getting started? She thinks that this is the business for her because she has a background in florist work and has been told that her arrangements are beautiful. I don't know what to tell her because my business is in the health consulting field. I know the basics but I don't know what to tell her as far as the gift industry is concerned. Any help please?
--------------------
There are companies that sell "cookie" bouquets as well as "fresh fruit" arrangements. Go work at one of them- you will find out if this is the job for you. You may end up being interested in running the spot as a manager not an owner. Second, there is a huge group that holds a meeting every year on gift baskets. Their trade magazine is called Gift Basket Review. You can often find the latest issues at the library. Get a subscription and read it cover to cover. Go to their national trade and association meeting. Well worth the money and you get to meet lots of people in this industry. Most people start out from home so they can save the rent. Many never go the retail store route because your overhead goes way up. Also, your inventory costs are pretty high because you have to have in stock or you don't sell. So that means you have to know what to buy that will sell. And you need to find suppliers that inti tally will sell in low quantities because you'll have to maintain a large variety of items. Perish-ability is a big issue - and many States require food handling training and licenses and storage and work areas and water sources- and the list is endless. So in the long run, it takes patience, research and a passion to do this. Good luck.

What are favorite fisherman's gifts?
My boyfriend LOVES to fish and sometimes we go fishing at one of the local lakes here in Phoenix. I want to get him a father's day gift in relation to fishing...maybe a basket of fishing accessories (not even sure what would be best for that) or something??????? Any suggestions?
--------------------
I could give you all kinds of suggestions, however, I think the best thing you can do is go to a local department store to the sport section. Talk to an associate that knows a lot about fishing. They will be able to help you one on one better. They will be able to show you what kinds of things to get that suits the area you live in and what kind of fish are caught there. As far as a gift "basket", I would say no. Go with a fishing vest and place the things in the vest that you are going to buy for him. Plus a nice fishing hat. Hope I helped....Good luck!!

What's going in yours?
As a Parent, what are you putting in your children's Easter Baskets? Does the Bunny come (like Santa) and leave the baskets along with the eggs outside? If your children are older, do you still do baskets and gifts?
--------------------
We live where it still is snowy so the bunny brings the baskets and eggs indoors. Now that the kids are teens they still like to hunt for eggs.I make their baskets all the same colors this year, blue candy, ribbons etc, also money in the plastic eggs are popular

Plz tell me how to decorate a white wicker basket with gifts for one yr old baby girl.I will need to ship it.?
I plan to put the following the basket. Its my niece's 1st bday and I cannot be there but they are celebrating it with a lot of pomp. A teddy bear/doll An purple colored dress Amythyst studs A greeting card and letter for the baby. How big should the basket be and where will I find it.How to make it look really nice and professionally done up. I will have to put it in a box of my own and ship it to them. Thanks much A winter faux fur coat A
--------------------
Place wads of white tissue paper in the bottom of the basket to "raise" some of the items up. The teddy bear should probably be the focal point of the basket, so sit him in the middle, resting on the side of the basket, or on the side. Put some wads of tissue under him so he will sit up higher than the other items. Place pink or lavender tissue paper on top of the white. Fold the dress so that the bodice shows. Unless the teddy bear and the doll are really big, you won't need a large basket. You won't need to wrap the items, just place them attracively on the pink tissue paper. If you want, fill in small "holes" or gaps with little items such as socks, hair bows, pink wash cloths, etc. Take different lenghts of paper crinkly ribbon in pink, white, lavender, purple - one or more colors - and curl them with a scissors. Drop these around on the gifts for a festive touch. If you wanted, you could place pink silk rosebuds around the basket too. You could find these at a craft store or the dollar store. Buy a bunch and snip off the heads close to the stems. Buy a piece of bridal tulle or netting, which is very cheap in fabric stores. Get a big enough piece to come up the sides of the basket and over the handle, if there is a handle. Gather up the ends, hold tightly, and secure with a rubber band. Tie a ribbon over the band to conceal it, and make it into a big bow. Or tie on a hank of curly ribbon in one or more colors. Look for a basket in craft stores, Walmart, thrift stores, Goodwill, etc. If you want, you could spray paint it white or pink. If you don't want to use a basket, you may be able to find a pretty cardboard box or hatbox. The trick would be finding one that is suitable for a baby. But you might be able to find a pretty pink floral or a soft pattern. Put the lid on the bottom of the box, and fix it up just like a basket.

I have 3 kids. My 8 year old says he believes but I have my doubts. My 2 year old definitely believes and we also have a 2 month old. What are in thier baskets: 8 year old's basket consists of a digital camera (cheap one from walmart only 3 mega pixels) along with the rechargable batteries and charger and a camera case. A Solid Milk Chocolate Bunny, eggs w/jelly beans & a toothbrush, little skateboards - and a flexible bunny & a bubble gun. 2 year old's basket consists of The Bee Movie, A Solid Milk Chocolate Bunny, eggs with jelly beans, a power ranger mask, potty book, crayons, sidewalk chalk, bubble gun and bunny ears and a toothbrush. 2 month old's basket consists of teething rings, rattles, (have to put in the chocolate bunny otherwise the older ones will ask why she didn't get one) and bunny ears & a baby eisnstein dvd. Easter is lots of fun for us. My husband also buys raisinets and puts some in a pile out on the porch so it looks like Rabit Poop... then he puts some in a plastic bag and leaves it on the table with a note. It's funny to see the kids faces.. (my older one knows they are just raisinets now...)

Messing with the "Picture Perfect" Christmas?
My MIL is obsessed with everything being "picture perfect for Christmas, pretty much for pretty pictures, not the experience. "I'm" not very traditional. i don't dress up to be around people I see all the time. I don't use wrapping paper or gift bags. I Use baskets, stockings and reusable bags for gift giving. I just HATE all the waste. I put a damper on her ideal of what Christmas should be. What's more important HAVING a good time or just looking like it for pictures?
--------------------
Its more important to have a good time and make lasting memories. Trying for the picture perfect christmas will just bring stress to everyone. I say be yourself and have fun.

Is it cruel to not give my daughter anything to teach responsibility?
I have a 9 year old who is absolutely irresponsible with all her belongings. She doesn't care if she loses her toys, she doesn't care if she leaves her jacket on the bus, etc. We have tried grounding her, making her pay to replace things, etc. Nothing works. I have tried helping her by showing her how to clean her room. I have tried reminding her when she leaves things out. The kicker was when I went in her room and found all her Ninetendo DS game cartridges scattered all over the floor. This is a gift she received from her Grandmother for Christmas. After picking them up, several were missing. She had no idea what she had done with them. I am at the point now where I don't want to give her ANYTHING anymore. I mean no more new clothes, no more birthday gifts, no more easter baskets. Not until she starts taking care of what she has now. I explained to my Mother that we would not be doing anything for her for Valentine's Day or Easter this year. My mom lost it on me telling me that would be cruel because we are going to get things for our older daughter. I tried to explain that my daughter doesn't value anything because we keep just buying her more but my older daughter (she's 10) is responsible with her belongings. Do you think that it would be cruel to just not get anything for my daughter for awhile until she starts showing us that she is going to be more responsible?
--------------------
I think you're on the right track. You should teach her the value of having these things, and you should explain to her that some people aren't as lucky as she is. I think that you should tell her that people work to get her these things that she treats so poorly. If she wants something from now on, make her work for it (age-appropriate, of course). That ought to teach her the value of working hard and getting something in return for it. I think your mother is being a little unfair to you and your girls. What you're thinking about doing doing is fair, because it sets a good example for the young one. The older one takes care of her things, so she is responsible enough for more. Try it for a couple of holidays and see what happens.

Was I cheating on my wife? In regaurds to the question Is this cheating?
Back in 2004 I had gotten into a little trouble with the law and found myself with a DUI conviction, before I met my wife today. Anyway so I called my agent for help and she did me a favor by not informing the corporate office of my new conviction therefor I continued to pay my normal payment of $62.00 a month for car insurance. The insurance payment would have gone up to almost $200.00 a month. So for 4 years I payed my normal rate thanks to her kindness. Just the other day I had to change my policy because I purchased a new vehicle so she said I would need to get her the vin#, and off my hip I offered to go to lunch so I could sign the policy and also it was the least I could do for saving me $4800.00 over the coarse of 4 years. IS THIS CHEATING? Thanks PS My wife wanted me to add I didn't notify her first and prior to the incident we had discussed approaches such as gift card and fruit basket. Dose anyone like fruit baskets?
--------------------
well you did technically cheat the insurance company but i don't see any cheating on your wife here. Not telling your wife isn't cheating it's lying. If you had any intent of actually flirting with her or doing more then THAT is cheating but from what i've read there was no intent of that. Just a 'thank you'

what are your favorites?
I'm doing meat, cheese, and cracker baskets as gifts this christmas..what are your favorite brands/types of bologna, cheese and crackers?
--------------------
I don't eat Bologna because I still in my 22 years of living, can not figure out what's in it or what it actually is!

Any creative ideas for x-mas gifts for clients?
I own a small business and want to do something more creative then fruit/food baskets or home baked cookies. What can I make with my own hands that isn't 'corney', or too 'common'?

The ad company we used sent all their clients Christmas Cds made up of all their staffs favorite songs... from the pixies to Nat King Cole to Bob an Doug Mackenzie. This was on a printed CD with a nicely done jewel case with the comapny logo and a note (like a card). Way better than jellies and crackers in a basket.
