complicated math problem help is needed?
Jared earns money by making gift baskets for Father's Day. He does one filled with fishing supplies and one with a sports fan theme. He makes a profit of $12.50 on the sports fan basket. He only has time to make 100 baskets and needs to earn at least $1,000 to cover his summer activities. Which solution stifies the system of inequalities? a) 73 fishing baskets and 27 sports fan baskets b) 75 fishing baskets and 25 sports fan baskets c) 70 fishing baskets and 30 sports fan baskets d) 72 fishing baskets and 28 sports fan baskets
--------------------
It's impossible to say....we don't know how much profit he makes from the fishing basket! If he made just sports fan baskets, he would need 80. Obviously, there is a piece of information missing here...

What should I buy my friend for her 17th birthday?
I wanted some gift ideas for my friend's 17th birthday. I wanted to get her some piece of clothing for fall/winter. I was thinking of getting her a cute cardigan, sweater or maybe a jacket. I don't want to buy her jeans, shoes, or jewelery. What should I get her. If I can't make up my mind, my Plan B is to get her a basket and fill it with a book, items involving bath & body stuff, lip gloss, nail polish, candy etc. Budget= $50. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I need a name for my business?
Im setting up a gift basket business, but i just cant think of a name for it! I do all sorts of baskets - but my main target market is the Asian consumer, as i make baskets for Asian festivals such as Eid, Diwali etc. Perhaps an asian word could be used? But i just dont know what. I wanted something around the word 'celebration' but 'celebration gift baskets' just doesn't sound catchy enough. Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated. Full points and a gift basket to say a big thanks from me goes to the person with the best answer. Send me your email address so i can get the basket to you. It has lots of goodies! Thanks everyone.x.

best place to send giftbaskets online?
hello, i want to send a cool gift basket to a guy. Do you have any recommended sites?
--------------------
Zingermans.com--very expensive, but very high quality. Cookies, brownies, breads, scones, etc. HickoryFarms.com--if he's the beefstick/cheese spread type Cookiebouquet.com--also pricey (most gift baskets are), but if you get one of the smaller ones, it's not too bad--and there are several themes to choose from. Popcornfactory.com--mostly buckets of junk food, but your friend might light it. Dancingdeer.com--cookies, brownies, etc. Reasonable rates. Very tasty food. Amazon also has a variety of food baskets. http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/102-989

Christmas gift for friend?
I need some social guidance about sending a friend a fruit basket from Harry & David for Christmas. I have not seen him for over 8 months as we've moved apart, but I'm hoping that a gift would be thoughtful. However, I do not want him to feel like he owes me anything. Should I still send a gift to be nice? I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you.
--------------------
Just send a nice Christmas card. That way you'll avoid causing any possible feelings of obligation on his part.

Mothers' Day.......?
How would you advertise this... what should I write... Mothers' day is coming, please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a "You pick the price" where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. And charge... Ex. Small basket: $2.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Medium basket: $3.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Large basket: $4.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Do you think this would work??? would it work in a small town???

I think that sounds like a really good idea. It would be really great for the guys who are absolutely clueless when it comes to gift giving.

I need help in math ?
The cheerleading team is selling gift baskets as a fundraiser. Each basket will contain 3 different sizes of candles: small, medium, large. Small candles cost $1 each, medium $4 each, and large candles cost $6 each. The team has decided to sell baskets containing 8 candles for $24 each. Each basket contains as many small candles as medium and large combined. How many small candles are in a basket?
--------------------
This may seem long, but bear with me for a while: Let a = the number of small candles b = the number of medium candles c = the number of large candles From: "The team has decided to sell baskets containing 8 candles", we get: a + b + c = 8 a = 8 - b - c Call this equation 1 From the prices, we get: a + 4b + 6c = 24 Call this equation 2 From the last statement, we get: a = b + c Call this equation 3 ------------------------------------- Equating 1 and 3, we get b + c = 8 - b - c 2b = 8 - 2c b = 4 - c Call this equation 5 Substituting 1 in 2, we get: (8 - b - c) + 4b + 6c = 24 8 + 3b + 5c = 24 3b + 5c = 16 Call this equation 6 Substituting 5 in 6, we get 3(4 - c) + 5c = 16 12 - 3c + 5c = 16 2c = 4 c = 2 Substituting the value of c in 5, we get: b = 4 - 2 b = 2 Substituting the values of b and c in 1, we get a = 8 - 2 - 2 a = 4 They sell 4 small, 2 medium and 2 large candles in every basket.

Secret Pals?
I need a good idea for a secret pal gift for Thanksgiving. I didn't think I had to get my secret pal anything much for Halloween since it's not celebrated to highly around my office, plus I'm on a budget. Well I feel like I have to make up for the gift I gave for Halloween. I only gave my secret pal a small Halloween inspired candle. Well everyone else in the office and myself included received rather big gifts such as gift baskets and gift certificates. I feel horrible! I figured I could make up for it for Thanksgiving. Any good gift ideas to show my secret pal I was thinking about her? I just didn't know to what extent the gifts were going to be and I feel like I didn't give her enough.

If you don't have a lot of money, it's silly to go broke trying to "compensate". Can you cook? How about a lovely big box or basket of fresh, home made goodies just for them? Include some cookies with their initial piped on top, buy some cheap, but pretty cloth napkins in a color you know they like, cover the basket with one & pack the others inside.

Yankee gift exchange for christmas?
My family decided that this year we would do a gift exchange where we would each buy one gift andthen trade. I love this idea but I need gift ideas. I hav to ideas that I am not sure what the reaction might be. My first idea is to make a basket with different small value (5) gift cards ie starbucks itunes and target. My second idea was a snuggie. There are all different ages (2 teenage girls, 2 20 year old girls, 2 guys in there 20s, 2 woman in there 50s, 2 men in there 50s andthen my grandparents). If you have any ideas please give them!!! I will be very thankful!!!!
--------------------
Your grandparents probably would not have any use for an itunes gift card. Providing everyone has a microwave and a DVD player, get a big, pretty plastic bowl, and put in some packages of microwave popcorn, and a gift card for the local video rental store. This always goes over well with everyone! A Snuggie would work, but some people think they are kind of stupid. I like them myself, however.

What are some really cool gifts to put in my sister's Easter Basket?
Every year, our parents used to surprise us with Easter bunny gifts. Now that I'm older, I am going to get her a Easter Basket. She is 13 years old, doesn't wear makeup, likes videogames, hates sports, and grew out of stuffed animals. I'm at my wits end. What can I get her? (10 pts to best answer)

Clothes Let's face it, when it comes to clothes, your teen will never have enough! What a perfect time to give your teenager some spring clothing. There are still sales going on before the new summer line is being promoted, so you can find some great deals on spring clothes. I was just at Old Navy and they had t-shirts, shorts, and spring pants & dresses at 1/3 off the regular price! K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and many others, including Mall stores, are not only having clearance sales, but sales on spring items. Books This time of year, many new books are hitting the market. Why not encourage reading in your teen by giving them the latest hot-selling title. Toiletries Fill that Easter basket with much needed soaps, shampoos, hair gels & other hair products, deodorants, and acne creams. You might even want to throw in some suntan lotion or sunscreen to help them look forward to the summer! School Supplies About this time of year, school supplies have either run out, been lost, or are worn out. Fill that Easter Basket with new pens, pencils, folders, notebooks, and notebook paper. For those who want to be a little more extravagant, try adding these gifts. CANDY!!! :P What teen doesn't like candy? It's something you just never seem to outgrow. I'm not a big fan of chocolate, but I feel special occasions deserve good chocolate! The week before Easter you will find great sales on Candy EVERYWHERE. Also, if you like to make your own, you will find candy-making supplies at specialty stores and most local grocery stores. For those who don't like chocolate or are allergic, try making carob candy - check out your local health food store for supplies and details. Entertainment This is a great time to give the gift of entertainment to your teenager. Why not buy a book of movie passes to distribute in various Easter baskets. You can usually purchase the tickets cheaper this way and your teen will love a free movie. If the price of a movie ticket in your area is a little high, why not buy a gift card at the local video shop. Teens also love their music; so another great gift is a C.D. of their favorite artist. Let's face it, every kid likes to get an Easter Basket, and teenagers are no exception. Why not fill that basket with practical items that are not only needed, but are sure to please! I hope this helps!!! have a Happy Easter!! :P I hope she likes it! I am 13 yrs. old and i would love it if my sister made me an easter backet! have a great day. You can put me as the best asnwer if you want!!! PLEASE! Bye
