Food gift basket for boyfriend?

My boyfriend is going on a trip with his dad to mexico next month,and he wont be back till sunday he saids he's going to bring something back for me, and I want to make a food gift basket for him to take with him, any ideas, of what I can make.Thanks, or what I can put in there that doesnt cost that much

Food basket might not be a good idea.Don't think some stuff can go across the border.He might not be too happy if he gets stopped and hasseled.Better to make a package with non food items like a card(I miss you)a disposable camara,a phone card for use from Mexico,stuff like that.

Christmas gift basket for wine lovers?

Besides a couple bottles of wine, what else should I put in this gift basket? I was thinking a 2010 wine guide, but what else?? Any ideas appreciated, especially if you are giving (or have given/received) a good one! Thanks!

Here are a few options. * wine glasses specific to the type of wine you've purchased ( there are different ones) * decorative wine stoppers * wine glass charms * corkscrew * a nice block of cheese ( brie or asiago tastes really good with wine) * crackers (try out flavors sesame, garlic,cheese,etc.) * cheese spreaders * food that would go well with the wine, such as pasta, olives or smoked salmon * a wine bottle opener * a picnic blanket I would say though that the key to a good wine basket is first of all, putting good wine in it. Also, make sure you put in the type of wine they drink. Giving a wine basket with reds when they drink whites defeats the purpose. Also, you can really put other things in if you decide to make it a "theme" basket. Get creative. Italian wine, pasta,Tuscany truffles and an Italian cookbook and voila you have a theme. Have fun!

Micheal Jackson pins, Madonna like jewelry (especially the armful of black rubber bracelets), hair mousse, scrunchies, neon color tee shirt and matching scrunchy socks, safety pin brooch made out of about 150 odd sized silver safety pins, rip up an old sweatshirt (Flashdance style), a best of the 80's cassette, or search on ebay for copies of your favorite old posters or magazine issues. A rubiks cube and some funky shoelaces would finish it off nicely. Sounds like a fun idea! If you have some crazy outfit photos of the two of you in your totally tubular outfits, add a little photo album with notes. When I turned 40, my best bud in the 80s (and still) did up a little envelope of memories, with photos, or just notes about stuff we did. We had a great time dancing to Prince and early rap, had posters of President Reagan and Prince side by side in our dorm room, and spent our work study money on Spritz Forte hairspray so our hair would spike. Cheap high heels from Kmart, miniskirts and oversized tops and over the top junk jewelry from flea markets completed our dance club look.

This year I got my girlfriend the 2009 equivalent of the mix tape - an ipod that I loaded up with love songs. Kind of like the CD idea you don't like but more modern. Fortunately my girlfriend doesn't have an ipod yet, but even if she did I would just get her a different version. If your boyfriend already has a large capacity ipod, you can get him a shuffle.

Help with a gift for expecting mum?

What i need help with is whats the best type of lotions to buy for stretch marks etc. If you have ever given or received something like this can you give me a few tips on what i could buy. thanks. Skip all that stretch mark crap it doesn't work regular lotion is fine to keep the area moist and ply-able but there is no way around stretch marks so don't waste your money. I'm making gift baskets as well. Among other things, I'm knitting hats for everyone (a quick hat-knitting method is to buy a loom so you just twirl yarn around and around in a circle. One hat only takes a few hours and you can do it while watching TV) and making cookies. If he likes to take baths you could also take an old jar and fill it with salts for a bath, if not you could fill it with more candy. If you want a nice design, you could sort of the colors and put them in a specific pattern (this works for candy like Skittles and M&M's). With gift baskets presentation is important, so perhaps you should pick your basket first. Then you'll know how much size you have and can adjust your ideas around that.

My sister has cancer. Suggestions for a chemo gift basket?

I would like to get her books (preferably not about cancer.) Do you have any suggestions for lighthearted books, books about sisters, or just good books in general? She's in her 60s, but very young at heart. Also other suggestions about what else to put in the basket are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your help.

I would want action, adventure books from another time, but she may like romance novels. You know what she likes. The key is to take her mind some other place and time while she is going through chemo. There is always a down time of feeling poorly. She won't feel like doing much. I would look for escape into a good book myself. Eventually, if all goes well, she will regain her strength and motivation to be more active. Good videos/DVD's with hopeful, happy endings would also be good for the times she is at home recovering from each round of chemo. Of course much of this depends on what type of cancer and what type of chemo she is facing. There are scores of cancers and hundreds of different chemotherapy regimens. We don't know how difficult her situation may be. Another thought might be puzzle books if she likes those, but I would keep it light - very light - - certainly nothing about cancer.

I think the best thing to do is instead of sending one from a company make one yourself. You can get a basket and fill it with some of the things you know your friend likes. I do this for my friends on their birthdays and such. I usually put in a good book, candles, makeup, wine.... all the things i know they like.
