So my boyfriends bday is coming up in 2 weeks. He's turning 20 which is kinda a big deal. This would be the very first time I've given him something for his bday because we've only been together for 7 months. I have no idea what to get him. He is very car obsessed and he is somewhat into the outdoors. I have no idea what to get him...I was kinda going with a gift basket/bag thing with a bunch of his favorite candy, a bday card, or maybe homemade cookies and something for his car? I don't know, what do you guys think?

I have caught my teenage son in a web of lies...?
For the last semestre my 17 year old son has been skipping school a lot. We talked to him about it and taken things away from him, we said he would have to earn the privilidge to have them back. The skipping didn't stop. We got a couple of phone calls recently from school asking us to pick him up 'cause he wasn't feeling well. At our house a gift basket was dropped of by a parent, my son received it. Then another parent from a school called about my sons health. It turns out that he has been telling everyone that he has an incurable brain tumor. At the time of her phone call my son was in her basement playing with her son. My husband and I went over to their house right away and confronted our son, making him appologize to the whole family. The same afternoon we made him go to friends that we knew and his girlfriend and come clean. We also took him down to his school to the vice principals office. He has had a very hard time in school. We gave him a couple of days off to recoup but made it clear that he will have to go back to school after that. We ended up getting a phone call from a friends mom, who was calling from our house, our son has called them over telling them that now he wants to die. We immidiately came home and took him to a crisis centre. They spoke to him which seemed to help at the time and our first counselling appointment is in a couple of days. I don't know if we can make it 'till then. He talks to us with such direspect. He tells me how much he hates me and even raised his fist at me. (I have never hit him) I've explained to him (many times) that he can be angry or frustrated with me but needs to speak respectfully. I've made him go on a run with me (even so he is cursing) and he'll be starting to voluteer. Last night was parent teacher night. It turns out that there is a web of lies, going back a year (maybee even more). He talks to us with such disrespect.... I feel totaly responsible. I want to help him but I don't think I can take much more of the verbal abuse. Can someone give me some (encouraging) advice. Do you think he can still succeed in life?
--------------------
I think you need to analyze the situation again. What else is going on at home and in your son's life that could be causing him to act out of character. Is there something that you are missing? Was he attacked or abused at school? Did he recently break up with a significant? Are there things going on at home that he might be having a problem dealing with (relative's joblessness, money problems, pressure to succeed)? Did someone close to him recently die or did one of his closest friends/relatives move away? Is he afraid of being on his own when he graduates? Is he worried about his grades (or the current state of his life in relation to) colleges, and other after graduation options? It sounds like he may need a psych eval to determine if he is experiencing some sort of mental imbalance. be prepared to seek out counseling and other cognitive therapies. Yes, he can still succeed in life. You are fortunate that this presented itself earlier in his life. You don't mention your husband really chipping in any help though. I think the best way to handle whatever you will face is as a team. Ask you husband to be as supportive as you are being. Good luck

Need help with BIRTHDAY Ideas for my boyfriend's 19th birthday....can anyone HELP?!?
Hi, My boyfriend and I have been together about ten months now. His 19th birthday is in august and so is mine! (his: august 1st mine: august 20th) He keeps talking about how much money he has to spend for my birthday present and how its going to the best birthday present ANYBODY has EVER received, and that really scares me! Since his is before mine, I dont want to do anything overboard or anything too cheap. He says all he wants on his birthday is me...but I want to do more than that! I was going to drive down to jacksonville beach, fl for his birthday and just hang out on the beach for a day since its only 4 hours away from us, but I started calculating the cost of the hotel, dining, and riding jet ski's and its a little over my budget ($300). Now i've been researching some stuff online and cant seem to find anything. I dont want to do a scrap book because me and him have been working on one together, and we add new stuff in there every month. I know he likes polo and air jordan's. I also know he's mentioned an ipod touch and the new lg rumor 2. He also is an athlete, which means he loves sports. He's not really a flashy type of guy, but he likes to look nice. The only problem with that is we have two totally different taste in clothes! I wanted to make him a gift basket with a bunch of little things that he likes or would like. Can anyone give me some new ideas or add on to ones that I already had to make them better? Best Regards -jdoe.

As a guy, I think that unless he is shallow, it wont matter what you get him, as long as you show him you love him and your there. I mean its not about buying the most expensive or flashy thing if hes a nice guy, somthing loving from you to him, personl and meaningful. like, getting him a ring maybe, you can get a stering silver ring kinda cheap these days, maybe a fancy one and inside have a personal message written. its romantic and loving from you to him, and yet its beachboy cool enough to wear with his mates and not worry. Id go for something along those lines....Hmmm, Im a nice guy...why am I single, haha.

--------------------
How about doing something fun? Take her to Guitar Center and play on the guitars/sing for awhile. Then head to a book store. Barnes and Noble has so many fun books for coloring/designing dresses. Go there, get a treat from Starbucks and let her pick a book. You could do all of that and stay in your price range. She'll remember it forever! Extra - Take a camera and take pics of EVERYTHING you do - even the little stuff (store signs) and then put the photos in an album (even a cheap one from the dollar store will work!)

Give her a gift card from the Disney store. Or give her four or five $5.00 gift cards from different places that she enjoys. Her favorite ice cream place, McDonald's, the cookie place at the mall, Block Busters so she can rent a movie, to The Dollar Store where she can get lip gloss and several other items for $5.00. I have a seven year old granddaughter and she enjoys receiving gift cards therefore she can get what she wants. Little girls love to go places and go shopping. I wish your little sister a great year being 8 and commend you for being a great big brother.

What do you get for a 3 year old?
Okay, my daughters birthday is coming up and she's about to turn 3. I'm drawing a blank on what to get her. She is really into Tinkerbell and stuff that she's not supposed to have. We're doing her party in Tinkerbell and the only thing I can think of to get her is to make a gift basket for her and fill it with goodies, like coloring books, crayons, and so forth and maybe some Tinkerbell items. But, other than that I'm clueless! Help please!!!!!

I think the basket idea is a GREAT idea I wish I would of thought of something like that. Go to the disney store they have LOTS of tinkerbell stuff T shirts, Pjs, Cups, dolls, Plates, they also have a place upfront where they sell little items for a dollar and up like keychains, little figures, bouncy balls etc. have fun with it.

Did I do to much in Begging for my Girlfreind to come back?
Did I do to much in Begging for my Girlfreind to come back? I let her go, because I was not sure If was really in her Heart. We started as freinds and suprisinlgy I became her boyfreind. We lived together for 5 monts, she's sweet, super pretty and quite. These are the things I did in begging for her Back: *I went looking for her to tell the Truth. *When I couldnt find her, I paid $300 to locate her, even though I later fnd her on my own a following week. *When I found her, corrected her with my Truth and Begged a follwing week. *I sent her a Love / Begging letter a following week. *I sent her a gift basket of all the nice things she likes, that I put together a following week. * I met with her person another following week later to plead. *I bought 3 large set of flowers ($150 total), and took 3 big Mexican singers (Triio') dudes in my 2 seater car and they did a Serenata" for her birtday at her work another week. *We had many discrete contacts, NO not for Sex, in talking and asking for her back on later different weeks. *I helped her out with a bill.(Just $250.00) weeks later *I took her to get her new car...and No I did not pay for it or or co-sign. After some months, I LET GO. I stopped the pleading. I told her she does not have be in touch with me anymore. Yes I fell into brokeness for a long time too. Okay...Im ready to hear your Answers AND all the ones from YOU saying I was stupid a_ _ in doing it.what I did. It's Okay - for I know you mean well. Have a Super Weekend.

If it's something you love, then you should do it. Why wouldn't you? Fear of embarrassment? If this is truly something you want to do with your life, then you will be in front of people all the time. Just get up there like you own the place and do your thing. You'll be nervous on the inside, but don't let it show on the outside. Good luck!! I hope you win!!

Why does my mom hate me? I feel like she really does.?
I feel like she hates me...My friend and I were alone and we were really hungry at like 4 am. I thought this gift basket on the counter was another Christmas gift for my family, and it had good looking food in it. I didn't realize at the time that it could be FOR someone else. We ate some of the stuff and went to bed leaving it on the counter. I was really tired because I got like 4 hours of sleep the night before then I stayed up really late and I ended up sleeping until 3 in the afternoon. My mom was really mad I slept in, and she also is really mad we ate the gift basket food because it was a gift for someone else. Then we said we were hungry and she yelled at me about the basket and said we could eat a sandwich. I said we didn't want sandwiches and she yelled at me more. We went to the grocery store and she was like "WHATEVER. DO WHATEVER YOU WANT, LIKE YOU DID BEFORE!" and we felt really bad. Then we came home and she was all "GET AWAY FROM ME!" and yelled at me more about everything wrong I did. She made me squeeze lemons for her "lemon cleanse" and I said I was done and she was like "OH REALLY! DID YOU THROW AWAY ALL THE LEMON PEALS!?" and I said no, and she was like "OH YAY, MORE HALF ASSED ONLY THINKING ABOUT YOU!' then I went upstairs and felt bad so I stayed in my room for a while and felt like she might have calmed down so I went downstairs and she was like "GO TO BED!" and I asked why and she was like "WELL, PRINCESS, DON'T YOU NEED 18 HOURS OF SLEEP AGAIN SO YOU CAN BE A ***** TOMORROW TOO!?" and I said completely seriously "When you say things like that I feel like you don't love me." and she looked happy. Now i'm really sad and I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. Every time I say something she has a smart comment. please help.

does she always act like that? my mom is like that sometimes but only when i piss her off. that really does sound like my mom, like it's weird how much. just give it time. ignore her unless she asks you something. just stay in your room and dont bother her. that's what i usually do, and my mom always ends up apologizing or coming and saying she loves me and stuff like that.

Bible verse to put in condolence card?
My boyfriend's uncle passed away a few days ago and I wanted to send a sympathy basket with a message to his mother. She's very religious and I need to make sure it is appropriate and meaningful especially since I have yet to meet her. So I need a biblical verse to include with the gift that's going to convey my sympathy.

1 Corinthians 15:42-43 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; You could also just look at the sympathy cards in any religious book shop.

About my British Guy....?
We've only been talking since the Thanksgiving holiday & we plan to see each other when he comes in for x-mas. No, He thought the idea of me driving down was sweet but it was the middle of the week & even if he had asked, I wouldn't have left that second to see him. I have other things & people in my life - godness knows he isn't the only man that pays me attention ( or at least tries), But, he is the only one I'm interested in @ this particular time & I would really like some advice from someone on what I should do! Should I get him a x-mas gift? If so, what? Would a gift basket filled with teas & other british bobs go over well? Should I call him? When should I call him?
--------------------
I'm British, been on holiday in the US and Canada, never lived in North America. But still....I wouldn't be absolutely bowled over by a gift basket filled with British bobs (is bobs a word?:)) *if* I had lived in Britain for quite a few years prior to living in the US. Strange though it may sound, if he left Britain when he was say 9 years old, he'd actually be a lot more fascinated by his "home" and appreciate traditional gifts. Even though he won't find a few teabags AMAZING he will doubtless admire the thought that went into it. American/British pairings are pretty hot in my experience :). I'm still friends with an American who had the hots for me YEARS ago. I have heard that British men climb the ladder in terms of the attractiveness of the women they're able to aim for when they cross the Atlantic, so your competition may be tougher than if you were in the UK - move to the UK with him!!! I think you should be daring, put on some ridicuously expensive and overwhelming perfume, tell him how you think he's tasty, then strip off, reveal your little Miss Santa number, sit in my lap (wait I meant his lap), kiss him, let your hair fall in his face, rub your bust across my face..........

Would you do this to your EX?
like if you were in a relationship w/ someone and you had a child w/ them, then you broke up (divorced). Would you send flowers or a gift basket to your ex if he/she had a baby? would you remain friends w/ your ex? would you give them life christmas gifts or send a card? any personal experiences?
--------------------
Yes I would make it as simple as possible when there is a child involved. Wars between ex's are uncalled for.

I got it for my sister-in-law and she told me she used it more on her than her babies. A great gift is a binki purse. Its a little purse that velcrows to the diaper bag and it holds you pasifier. So you have it right when you need it.

Unique Cute/Sassy business names...?
Starting a gift basket business.....my name is Stephanie. So something that goes with Steph, Stephanie......or something cute with the word basket. I like "sassy" or "cute" type names...I'm 23 years old, so something young. It is a small business. I'm just brainstorming right now, any ideas would be great. thanks!
