Should I get him & his wife a baby gift basket delivered to him or should I just mail him a card enclosed with a gift certificate? I figure a gift certificate would be better, since for the gift basket, there is a deliver charge and the items in it are charged at a premium anyway, so a gift certificate would be more "economical" for the same price as the gift basket. Opinions?

id say a gift basket because its more thoughtful and it shows you took the time out to give something nice to their newborn. although if money is an issue then just a simple gift card would work. but id say a hand made gift basket with a few knicks and knacks in it would be a really thoughtful gift to the family.

Should I send my former boss a "Congratulations" card and gift basket for her new baby?
I just found out that my former boss gave birth. She's on maternity leave but I want to send her a congrats card and maybe something small for the baby like a small gift basket.
