My best friend is pregnant and for her baby shower I wanted to give her a gift basket type thing filled with stuff new moms need or use a lot that. Things she might not expect she needs. They can be things for her, or for the baby. Thanks all!

One really cool gift you could do (and be a little creative with it at the same time) is make a diaper cake. You roll individual diapers in different sizes (newborn-3) and then make the tiers, biggest on the bottom and tie the tiers together with a ribbon. Then accent the cake with things she'll need like diaper rash cream, onesies, gas relief med (mylicon), baby soap, lotion, alchol and swabs, tylenol, etc and at the top, top it off with a pair of baby booties. Just a suggestion. In fact, I am making one for my sister-in-law and it is turning out great. If you need pics and better directions, there are several sites that have pics of diaper cakes.
