My best friend is having a baby and has pronounced me as the God Mother. She already has everything she needs for the baby and more but I want to give her and the baby something special that they can have for their lives. I am artsy fartsy and am thinking about making a basket and putting this in it.

A basket is a great idea, but please don't bring it to the hospital! Honestly, that is just one more thing the parents need to lug home. Instead, put together the basket and take it to her house a day or two after they come home. She will appreciate not having something else to make sure comes home! Plus, she will be in her own environment and a lot more relaxed than she was in the hospital, therefore she will be able to pay more attention to the gift and realize how much thought and effort went into it.
