Every year for Christmas, my boss has me make 22-25 very stuffed baskets for other architectural and engineering firms that we collaborate with. No expense is spared and they are quite nice. This year, two of the firms receptionists sent us a quick email saying something like "Hi, we at (insert firm name) want to thank you for the basket." Is it just me, or does that just seem kind of rude..to thank someone for a big gift by email? Would it be too hard for them to just send a real thank-you card, even a small one? Maybe I am making a big deal about nothing..but it seems bad etiquette. This isn't just "Oh hey, thanks for setting up that meeting.."

I would be making the baskets a little differently next year. Two peaches with a banana poking out between them or something.
