Best friend is moving away for college across the country. I posted a question a few minutes ago about a gift idea. I like the idea of a gift basket in case she gets homesick, with like a warm blanket, maybe some dvds, and other comfort stuff? What do you think? Do you think it would be a bad idea to give her a bunch of stuff when she is moving?

it's not a bad idea. it will be something for her to cuddle up with on those difficult first nights, and since she's moving anyways she's going to have to transport all of her old stuff, what's a few more things? plus, it will give her a way to remember you. it will show more love and give her comfort than it would the small extra hassle to bring it. also possibly write a note with the gift basket describing your favorite memories. not a little note, but like a good honest page or so of everything you love and will miss about her.
