There are these really good friends of mine... and I want to make them an anonymous gift basket. I know money is really hard for them right now. They have 4 children. They have 3 sons and one daughter. their sons are 5, 3, and 1. Their daughter is 4. What should I put in the gift basket?

At first I thought about a Target gift card, but that could be offensive as outright charity if they're on the proud side. I think you should put in it "luxuries" they might be cutting back on. Create a "movie night" basket with some DVDs, gourmet popcorn (moose munch!), some theatre box candy, some little age appropriate toys (maybe some colorful slipper socks for them to wear together). Put in a note that movie night is on you.
