What are some good gift ideas for my dad?

My dad's turning 36 soon, and I'm going to the mall tomorrow with my friend to get him present. I don't really know what to get him. He likes hockey and drinks beer alot. He doesn't need a new watch or wallet, and my limit is $30 . I want to get him something good, because I can never find the right gift for him.
