ok people- gimme some ideas...My family is largely located on the Gulf Coast, and seems to keep getting hit by hurricanes, power outages, tornados, etc. What would you use as a "basket" and what would you put in it? I was thinking a clothes basket with things like a small radio, batteries, pop-top cans of food, juice, flashlights, bottles of water, granola bars, cheese/ crackers, etc... All you yankees- think days without power in a snowstorm, except hot and wet outside! :) Gimme some other ideas!

besides everyone´s suggestions put some stuffed animals, maybe they have kids and a little Teddy bear will help a little.. those packets for making instant hot chocolate and some dehydrated marshmallows... cookies.. hard candies and an encouraging note from you.... good luck!!!!
