i have a daughter in kindergarten and a daughter in first grade i would like to give both their teacher something they would really appreciate not just an apple or something i thought about making school supply gift baskets but i dont know how much they need extra school supplies. any ideas?????

Generally speaking, teachers appreciate any gift. We do not expect gifts from parents, so when they are received, its the classic "It's the thought that counts". Usually, the school will supply school supplies, so while its a nice thought, it's not necessary. I think most teachers drink coffee (myself included), so maybe some gourmet coffee samples might be nice and not terribly expensive? Also, ask your daughters what your teachers like. Some may mention things like "I have a dog at home" or "I like to run". Maybe your kids could do some spying for you.
