Hi i am starting a gift basket company. In these hard times I do not feel safe taking credit cards. Is it okay to ask for only personal checks or money orders before i ship product out? With my company you get to choice every item for the baskets. I just put them together and ship them.

You're the vendor it's up to you but it will limit your customer base a lot. You might want to look into using PayPal it is a well known internet payment system that takes the danger out of using credit cards for both parties. Another thing to keep in mind is personnel checks can be faked so be careful accepting them. www.paypal.com
