My close friend/colleague is currently going through a divorce. Needless to say, she is devastated and I feel so bad for her. One of my colleagues suggested we put together a "Divorce Break-Up" gift basket (of course we wouldn't call it that) to cheer her up. We were thinking about putting bath salts, a bottle of wine, a manicure/pedicure gift certificate, slippers, chocolate, etc. in it. What other items should we include? Any suggestions would be truly appreciated! Thank you. :)

I think the basket is a great idea... Everyone loves a gift, it'll put a smile on anyone's face. Chocolate is such a mood booster.. especially dark chocolate.. dark rich pure slightly higher priced wonderful cheer up chocolate .. mmmmm.... I know all too well the benefits of that simple luxury. Bath salts, that's great.. try some handmade soap with it.. go for lavender and peppermint that are good for calming. Pleasant smells.. good for the senses.. ahhh, thinking of my own salts and soaps that await me every night make me want to take my steaming bath now. Get some candles and suggest she turn the lights out.. and soak.. Bring it to her attention.. perhaps she's a showerer, with all that stress... she could completely over look it. You would be surprised at what she's forgetting right now... BOOKS.. inspirational books.. finding God, meditative insights, theories, quotes - "it too shall pass"... taken from the Bible(not sure the exact location) ...comfort thoughts. A gift card!.. to a clothing store.. the mall? somewhere nice.. where she can buy herself a new outfit.. something that man doesn't know.. something he hasn't seen her in. A new her... And give her tea bags.. for hot tea. Try the celestial seasonings one.. They have a sample pack that's got different calming chamomile.. stressing/relaxing .. peppermint sleepy time teas.. they are all wonderful tasting teas and tell her to drink them, they will warm her heart! ...Literally .. to sit... in the dark.. light a candle.. drink her tea.. her wine.. to go take her bath.. and to PRAY! ...............Because she is NOT alone.
