Mothers' Day.......?

How would you advertise this... what should I write... Mothers' day is coming, please tell me, is this a good idea, I sell Avon and my brother gave me this idea... (He said it would work for the men who just don't know what to get... and the men who work too late to go shopping...) make gift baskets... and do a "build your own basket" or a "You pick the price" where you tell me what you want in the basket and I put it together. And charge... Ex. Small basket: $2.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Medium basket: $3.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Large basket: $4.50 plus the cost of the Avon products. Do you think this would work??? would it work in a small town???
--------------------
Absolutely! I have a friend who sells Mary Kay and she does that for all the holidays like Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc. I would recommend you have gift baskets (or gift bags work nicely, too) at different price points and then just add a flat shipping & handling cost, rather than the $2.50, $3.50, etc. I would include S&H whether you deliver, mail or not; consider that the charge for your putting everything together for them. And don't sell yourself short on the amount (I would say AT LEAST $4.95 or so) -- believe me, husbands will be THRILLED to pay for the convenience of having the gift taken care of for them! I would advertise on Craig's List about this special service.. You may also want to have a "wish list" for your women clients, and then you can automatically approach their husbands. Collect email addresses so you can send out a monthly (or more often) email newsletter. Good luck and prosper!
