I was thinking of makeing a food gift basket for my boyfriend, cause it's a gift for our 2 year annnvery, and I have no money , so I was thinking of makeing something to put in the basket , is there any non melt good sweets I could put in there, or home made snacks.

At Christmastime I had some chex mix that was fantastic. It's a sweet version of the snack mix from the store. I used honey nut chex (they're sweet) and a few other types of chex, but you can use frosted Cheerios, too. Mix a bunch of different cereals, about 20 cups of cereal total. Add a bag of M 'n M's...peanut or regular or get creative. You won't be cooking this, so add whatever he likes! Any chocolate covered candy works. Also. add nuts and pretzels if you like. I prefer the butter flavored pretzels that look like little squares. Melt one bag of white chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave. (I burned them in the micro, so I used a double boiler instead. Don't just put in one pot as they burn really easily. A double boiler is one big pot on the bottom, filled with water that will boil, with a smaller pot holding the chips on top. This allows them to melt without burning. ) Keep stirring until it's smooth. Pour over the cereal. I put mine in an airtight container with a cover so I can just shake it up.....shake it up to coat all of the cereal mixture. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. Break up bigger chunks later. It's heavenly, low cost, and takes little effort. It tastes like it's been covered with marshmellow or frosting. Enjoy! :)
