My best friend's father just passed away and my family and I were wondering how we could help out. What are the chinese death rituals? I read that is appropriate to give white or yellow chrysanthemums. Is it okay to give them a fruit basket? What else could we give? Do they wear any special colors? White? Black? Please help!

I'm sure anything you do will be seen as thoughtful. I'm pretty sure no one there will really care about the details. Right now, go hug your friend and support her. Be there for her family. Offer to do whatever you can to help--get her school assignments and copy notes for her if you go to the same school. Those things will speak more of you and your upbringing than anything traditional.
