My younger sister will be graduating from college this May. She is an Education major with an intent to teach upper elementary grades. For graduation I want to make her a little "gift basket" of some sort with items that she will use in school, but I'm not really sure what to include in the basket. Does anybody have any ideas? She already has been employed at a local elementary school and their mascot is the bulldog. Their school colors are blue and purple with accents of white and black, if that gives you any ideas.

I think you should go to an Education Station or to the school supply section of Wal-Mart. I'm sure you'll get some inspiration there! Some things that every teacher finds useful: - Sticky notes - Paper clips. At my Wal-Mart they have some in the shape of bones, which would be cute since their mascots is the bulldog. http://www.amazon.com/CLIPIT-Dog-Bone-Pa
(they are cheaper at Wal-Mart!) She also might need the big ones, like this: http://myitchyfingers.files.wordpress.co
They have decorative and colorful ones as well. - Push pins. My Wal-Mart also has decorative push pins. I saw some that were ladybugs and were just adorable! - Dry erase markers/chalk (depending on what type of board they have in the classroom) - Tape. You can also find cute tape dispensers around stores. - Sharpie pens. - Highlighters. - Sticker sheets. - Memo pads. You can find them all kinds of shapes and designs. I'm sure you can find some in an apple, bone, or doghouse! - Clipboard. You can find decorative/colorful ones.
