we are moving into a house, and the owners are coming over to give us a gift basket to welcome us.?

should we get them something as well? if so, what? (wine, cookies, fruit?) Thanks

You are not in any way obligated to get them anything at all since they are welcoming you to the neighborhood. However, when they do come over and give you something such as a basket, I suggest you invite them in for something to drink and possibly cookies or a snack. Just chat with them and get to know them, accept their gift and offer to send some leftover snacks home with them. If they decline coming in, you can offer to invite them over some other time, but if they still decline, just thank them for the gift and you choose on whether or not to give them a gift. Usually a good gift is some homemade items and treats, maybe even throw in a potted plant. That is my advice.
