my friend's mother is about to die/is going to die VERY soon.?

what could i get him (teenager) and his dad as gift other then our time and compassion. mabey like a gift basket. what could it include? HELP!

Instead of a gift basket how about going and cleaning the house for them or taking younger siblings out for the day to allow them to do what needs to be done. Fix a meal and have it ready so all they have to do is heat it up in the oven. The best gift I got when my dad died was a poem a friend had written and had framed with a picture of me and dad together.
