On Halloween night, I took my favorite candies and decided to make a little gift basket of candy for a friend who dosen't go trick or treating because her family's church dosen't allow it and I felt bad she never got candy. I spent a lot of time putting little ribbons etc on the basket, careful not to put pumpkins, witches or anything that has to do with halloween itself. When I gave it to her at school, I was surprised to find that she didn't want it. She gave me the whole "Satan's birthday" thing, and I just tried to tell her that it was just candy, and it wasn't meant to have anything to do with the devil, and I politely insisted on her taking it. She did, reluctantly. Now I'm feeling as though I shouldn't have made it for her, but another part of me feels like the candy didn't do anything so why didn't she just take it, without giving me a lecture on how good chrstians don't trick or treat. Was I wrong to insist on her taking the candy?

you weren't wrong and neither was she...you are just are miles apart when it comes to your beliefs...and that's OK too as long as no one disrespects the other....
