My bestfriend dates a man who has a child, young like 1 1/2- 2 yrs old. She asked me if she should get the son an easter gift... I said yea like an easter basket... she said no not candy maybe clothes... I responded... Well no then i dont think you should, its easter not christmas. no offense. was I wrong to say that? I'm just being honest with her thats how I feel, its like using Easter as an excuse to give gifts or receive gifts... isn't that ridiculous?

I'm with you. Easter is a time for renewal, so a new outfit is a good idea. A child that small should not have too much candy, if any. A modest toy would also be appropriate.
