He admitted himself at this hospital for his bi polar and substance abuse. He realizes that he need help and cannot do it on his own,I commend him for his courage and humility. I love him very much and I know with the right dosages of medication he will be better.My Question is can I send flowers ,gifts like cookie baskets , fruit baskets.... things like this in a mental institution? thank you.

You should call them and ask first. They may have specific rules about what you are allowed to send him. You should be able to at least send him a letter or card though.
