What to send as a sympathy gift?

My husbands' aunt just passed away from a lengthy battle with cancer. We want to send his uncle something, but don't really know what. Do men like flowers? Would he rather have a chocolate basket? Their two sons and their families- chocolate basket or flowers? There are 3 little grandsons, and one of the flower places has teddy bears that you can add on to the order, so we are thinking of sending each grandson a teddy- they are all toodlers still. Does this sound okay? Any other suggestions? ~~

I don't think anyone wants or expects a gift at this time. It's like you are saying "sorry she died, but here's some chocolates." Really the best thing you can do is let them know (send a card) that you are there and call them once in awhile to see how they are doing. Let them know they are not forgotten. And if you have any photographs of them with the person, send it to them. When my mom died I got stuck with all these stupid planters and I was angry I had to care for them.
