Family friend passed away. Should I send her family a gift basket?

A close family friend passed away. She was a college professor who help my family tremendously. She helped my mom get a full time job in the housekeeping department at her university where she taught. This kind professor also gave my siblings money for college text books, bonds, etc. She passed away a few days ago. What would be an appropriate way to show my familys gratitude to this woman now that she has passed? She has a daughter who my family is also very close to. Should I send the daughter flowers and a card? Or perhaps a fruit basket? Please help! Thank you.

You restore my faith in people.. Send her daughter a personal card telling her how much you loved and appreciated her mom.. Her moms favorite flowers would be a nice touch or the fruit basket is also appropriate.. God Bless you and your family for being loving and caring..You are very refreshing in these days..
