Ok, I am 14. I understand I am quite young but, I really would like to start a business. Something where I could put my creative, and imaginative personality to good use. I was thinking of making holiday related decorations. Maybe for Christmas I could make gift baskets, Christmas tree decorations. And other related items. I also thought about making jars with dry ingredients for certain kinds of cookies. I am only 14 and I don't have a lot of money to start off with but how should I go about starting out? How should I sell the items and sort of advertise them. I was thinking over Ebay or Craigslist. Maybe sell them at a flea market or something. What would be some good ideas? and what other kinds of items would you be interested in buying? Also since I am only 14 how could I prove that I am responsible and that all of this is going to good use and is legit...I was thinking about having a percentage of my earnings go towards a charity or towards a local food pantry. Also any other information that may help me? Thanks.

If you are an artist, you can sell paintings on ebay. Do an ebay search for ACEO original. An ACEO is a 2.5 x 3.5" painting (the size of a baseball card). There are usually thousands of listings. I sell art on ebay - several sizes. It's fun and productive. You may have to get a parent to help you with an account and to help you manage it... you have to set up a paypal account and a verified address, so your parents would have to help with that. There are a lot of free websites online which give instructions for making all sorts of arts and crafts, so you can do Yahoo searches for whatever you're interested in... everything from beadwork, to card making, to instructions on how to draw and paint. One of my most favorite websites is one about making mini scrapbook albums.
