is perfume ok to give a person in hospital?

as for etiquette? She is an older lady in 70's.. she is just convalescing for this next week before she goes home.. Her room is filled with wilting flowers many people gave her already, she has boxes of candy, fruit baskets, munchies, etc.. I know her favorite type of perfume and thought this might make her feel special if I got her a bottle just before she leaves the hospital.. I am thinking it might make her feel feminine around all the sterile hospital smells.. but my husband thinks this is an awful gift for a person in hospital and he wants to buy her candy, flowers, or munchies.. I told him to buy her those and i'll buy her the perfume.. am I wrong?

No I think perfume is lovely as she is probably sick of flowers candy books ect. Plus older women like receiving perfume
