Need advice about this....?

i need some advice about this gift for my friends and family, i want to be creative, i know Christmas is kinda far away but its never to early :) plus i live in Europe so somethings are hard to find so i want to make all my friends and stuff baskets for ... christmas, i want to include a good book, some chocolate ofcourse candy canes, hot chocolate ....what else could i put in it, like small gifts and stuff? ..what do you think of like tickets to the ice rink or something? for my parents i want to make each VERY special because they've done so much for me! i want to show my appreciation,give them something they would REALLY like, .. my mom is into crosswords & she likes books, my dad likes movies, & interesting books, .. im thinking about getting them those'' legacy books'' like father tell me your story, mother tell me your story so that when i have kids they can kind of get to know my parents also. it would mean a lot to me. but i also want to add something else too any idead
