What would you think if...?

you're best friend didn't invite you to do anything with her on her birthday? It's my best friend's birthday tomorrow (we've been best friends for 3 years) and I hear from one of our other good friends that they are going out to dinner together with my best friend's family! So I am honestly shocked. I do everything for her, no joke. For christmas I got her this amazing present and giant chocolate santa thing, she got me a gift card. For valentines day i made her this like 5 foot tall card on this giant paper but pictures of us and it took me like two hours to make and to go with it i got her a box of chocolates, she gave me a candy bar. Oh yea and I even made her a basket of like candy and a gazillion other things for may day, she didn't get me anything. Oh yea and whenever she's sick I bring her a get well balloon, soup, and candy, she has been sick at least 3 times in the last year). I feel like I'm being to nice, i can't help it though. It's just who I am. What should I do?

It sounds like she's using you. My friend used to have a friend like that and she only made things harder on her. It's alright to be mad at her, I would be too. But if she wants to be that way then you shouldnt' go out of your way to try and keep the friendship together when it's not reciprical. If she really was your friend she wouldn't be doing this. You should go up to her and ask her why, if she can't give you a decent answer then you deserve better. You sound like a sweet person, I'm sure you could find better friends. It's would definatly be tough to just let her go after three years, but don't think you have to plain ignore her. You can talk to her and be friends as long as she gives you the respect you deserve. As for everything that you get her, it's really nice that you get her all these things. But you can't always expect to get as much in return. I would love it personaly and try to give back, but some people are different. If it seems that they don't appreciate it, don't try so hard to make it if it doesn't matter to them.
