My best guy friend gave me a necklace with a ring on it that belonged to his mom and well at work i was pushing baskets and it ripped off and i couldn't find it because the parking lot in which i was pushing baskets is really big and no one returned it. Do you think i should tell him? If you gave that gift to someone and they lost it the same way i did would you forgive them or be mad?

I would ask yourself, "Why did he give me something like that in the first place?" That's a really big deal. That's something you would give your girlfriend. The idea that you are asking what to do means that you know how important it was to him. You may only be his "friend" but I would think that he wants to be more. To answer your question, "yes" you should tell him what happen and make sure he knows that you are really sorry about it.
