The longevity of Christmas cookies?

There is a reason I'm asking no, I didn't find a stash from last year. This Year my plan is to make as many gifts as I can. I buy one of my Uncles a box of chocolates every year, he now expects it. On that note I was thinking I'd do up a basket for him, do some chocolate molds, chocolate spoons stuff like that. I was also going to include cookies, here is the rub. I live about 4 hours away from my family in an area where winters are white, so I try and get back home to give them gifts around the last week of November, first week of December, basically when Weather permits. My question is if I made cookies then, would they still be good when he got them? I don't think it could be worse than me giving him a gift that had spoiled. If it depends on the cookie and you know what are major no nos or would be perfectly fine let me know. I may in the end stick to chocolates, but I want to keep my options open
